Prior to BDC, Ania was a founding director of Case Associates, a consulting company that provides management assistance to nonprofit organizations. She was also a community organizer working with multiple organizations to drive action on climate change. For example, she was on the Mothers Out Front (MOF) Massachusetts leadership team, led the Downtown MOF Boston team, and is the board president of HEET. She also co-founded and coordinated the Gas Leaks Allies, a collaboration of over 25 nonprofit organizations, working to transition the Massachusetts gas system to renewable thermal energy. Ania will share her expertise regarding thermal energy networks and their viability in the Truckee Tahoe region.

Dr. Aguirre Torres is a former Senior Adviser at Rewiring America, and the former director of sustainability for the City of Ithaca, New York, where he led the design and implementation of the first city-scale electrification program in the United States. Dr. Aguirre-Torres is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Senior Executive Group on Net Zero Carbon Cities, and member of the Finance Committee at the National Association of State Energy Officials.

New is a teacher and anthropologist by training. She has coordinated coalitions and working groups dedicated to decarbonization of the thermal sector. She launched Vermont Community Thermal Networks (VCTN) in 2022 to advance local thermal energy network (TEN) solutions in Vermont. An organizer, facilitator, and writer, much of her work involves leading action-oriented initiatives, creating supporting materials, and translating technical information for decision-makers, advocates, and the public.

Brittney Gutierrez presents on the electrification coaching program, which offers free technical assistance to home and building owners navigating the switch from fossil fuels to electric heat pump systems.

Eric Bosworth, Thermal Energy Insights Eric Bosworth was responsible for the implementation of projects for the Clean Technologies group at Eversource Energy. His work included leading the first networked geothermal project deployed by a utility in the US, located in Framingham, MA. He was responsible for the oversight of the project from feasibility and site selection through operations. Bosworth is now the Principal Consultant at Thermal Energy Insights. He provides technical consulting services to utilities, municipalities, government agencies, and private companies on a wide range of energy topics. His primary areas of focus include utility-scale geothermal, thermal energy networks, energy transition, energy policy, and decarbonized gas technologies. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
